20 Dec 2017 Newcastle 500 Supercars

The inaugural Newcastle 500 was held in November 2017 and was hailed a major success for the Sport and the City. iEDM were engaged by Supercars Australia to provide all site identification, feasibility, design, engineering and project management services for the project, which included substantial civil / enabling works as well as the overlay and event planning. The Newcastle Event site was located on the edge of the CBD, encompassed many businesses, around 3,000 residents, 3 public beaches, parklands and various other public areas. Logistically, these projects require a very high level of planning, stakeholder communication and design. Initially, the civil works were only to include minimal works required to make the streets safe for Supercars racing. However, it was soon realised that the project could achieve a tremendous legacy to the area of Newcastle East if we could conduct significant streetscape and services upgrades into the area at the same time. The services in Newcastle East were dilapidated and some water mains close to 100 years old. In 2009, the Townsville 400 won the Event of the Year Award at the annual V8 Supercar Gala Awards Ceremony. With over 168,000 people attending the three day event in its first year, the precinct and venue has been an enormous success. iEDM was responsible for the Event Overlay Design and Delivery and worked tirelessly in close consultation with key stakeholders to ensure the success of the event. iEDM are currently contracted as Engineering Project Manager to deliver services for this event. iEDM’s core responsibilities for the Townsville 400 are as follows: Masterplanning of Event Overlay; Event Construction and Project Management; Seating Layouts, Corporate Layouts and Merchandising Layouts; Construction Programming; Stakeholder Consultation and Management; Approvals; Traffic Management on behalf of Townsville City Council; Venue Management of Precinct during Event; Risk Management; Provision of over 80 detailed drawings for construction and operations of the precinct; Provision of Safety Officers and Industrial Relations Management; Circuit Design and Certification to CAMS (FIA) Standards. ...

02 Dec 2015 Sydney 500 V8 Supercar Event

iEDM was engaged by V8 Supercars and the Homebush Motor Racing Authority (a NSW Government Agency) to deliver the inaugural 2009 V8 Supercar Event at Sydney Olympic Park. With a tight design and construction timeframe and approximately $20 Million of capital infrastructure to deliver, this project was a logistical Mount Everest. The 2010 event won the Event of the Year Award at the 2010 Annual V8 Supercars Gala Awards Ceremony. Closing down one of Australia’s largest event centres, the site of the 2000 Sydney Olympics, required a great deal of consultation and liaison with all stakeholders within the busy precinct. 02 Dec 2015 Reid Park Multi Event Precinct Manual

Reid Park is an event precinct in Townsville which was built in 2009 and jointly funded by all levels of Government. The precinct is located just outside the CBD and hosts the annual V8 Supercar race in July and various concerts and other local events. In order to assist the Townsville City Council with marketing the precinct to event promoters, iEDM prepared a manual for use of the site. The manual practically sets rules and the parameters of the site as well as highlights the multi-event use and features. 02 Dec 2015 Gold Coast 600 V8 Supercars

The Vodafone is the new name for the freshly re-branded and formatted event which many would know as the Gold Coast Indy. Members of the iEDM team have been involved with the engineering design and project management of the Gold Coast Indy since the event’s inception in 1990. In 2010, the famous 4.5km beachside street circuit was reduced in length to allow for a faster construction period and better racing for the V8 Supercars, who are now the main category of race cars and the event promoter. The event also incorporates a concert at the Broadwater Parklands. The reduction of the circuit resulted in a 30% reduction in construction time. Further, the reduction, with a detailed review on construction methodology, has resulted in approximately $1M of annual savings to the event. The Gold Coast 600 is one of the most logistically challenging events to construct on the Australian calendar. The site cannot close down, for any period of the construction, with approximately 4,000 residents inside the precinct and located on one of three major arterial roads in a city of over 500,000 people. Over four days of motorsport and concerts, the 500 Adelaide is one of Australia's largest annual events. iEDM deliver approximately $17M of overlay infrastructure for this major South Australian Project, on behalf of the South Australian Tourism Commission. 02 Dec 2015 Bathurst Second Circuit Preliminary Feasibility

iEDM were engaged by Bathurst Regional Council (BRC) to provide a preliminary design and feasibility study ultimately lead to approval granted for construction of second circuit at Mount Panorama. Because the existing Mount Panorama Circuit is a street circuit, with residential access required, it can only operate a set number of times per year. BRC wish to leverage the strong brand and history the venue has by developing a second circuit to create a more substantial economic impact related to motor sport activity. The Preliminary Feasibility looked at a second site, nominated by the BRC in close proximity to the existing Mount Panorama Circuit.
