iEDM was commissioned by Gold Coast City Council (GCCC) to provide all design and project management for the 2014 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships (PPSC). The PPSC was the first test event for the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the first event to be held at the recently upgraded Gold Coast Aquatic Centre.
At the time iEDM was appointed, there was an approximate $1.0M budget over-run of money approved by the funding parties and the budget provided by their cost consultant. Our first significant task was to develop a cost efficient design and drive the procurement of the major infrastructure items to the funded budget. We were able to achieve this using well designed, high quality, local products and were able to report to our client success in committing the budget from $2.5M to $1.5M.
iEDM was responsible for the project management, programming, planning, design and engineering for the following temporary overlay infrastructure:
