After a 2.5 year hiatus, the Newcastle 500 Supercars event returned in early March, and iEDM executed this event with great success. Charged with building an event overlay in an urban environment that is enjoyed by thousands of people each day, the iEDM team rose to the challenge delivering just that.
Following the Newcastle 500, iEDM acted as the engineering project manager, overlay designer, and principal contractor for the FORMULA 1 ROLEX Australian Grand Prix 2023. This was the biggest build in the event's history, hosting over 444,000 people in just four days. iEDM employed a team of 47 professionals, including engineers, project managers, event overlay designers, safety personnel, construction managers, and site managers worked tirelessly to help make this event a success.
Throughout March and April, iEDM provided design management and project management services for a series of permanent upgrades to the Phillip Island Circuit. This civil works project mainly involved making safety upgrades to the circuit for MotoGP later this year.
Additionally, iEDM was engaged by the Australian Football League (AFL) to design and deliver the overlay infrastructure required for the inaugural Gather Round in Adelaide. This involved a small amount of overlay to bring Norwood Oval up to AFL standard, as well as a complete temporary event overlay at Mount Barker Oval, a regional football ground transformed into a small stadium.
Lastly, iEDM provided site management services for the 12th hole at the Liv event, located at the Grange in Adelaide, after being engaged by the South Australian Tourism Commission and Liv Golf.
Our leadership team extends its thanks and congratulations to the iEDM crew for seamlessly delivering this number of overlapping projects.
