iEDM has been appointed as the Project Manager for a significant new infrastructure project in Lyndoch, South Australia, aimed at preparing the town for the 2025 AFL Gather Round.
This project, a joint venture between the Barossa Council and the South Australian State Government, will see a $40 million investment to upgrade the Lyndoch Recreation Park.
Seamless Integration of Expertise
iEDM will bring together its permanent sports infrastructure team with its overlay team to ensure the build meets the requirements of the AFL Gather Round. Working closely with Dash Architects and the contractor Built, iEDM will manage the project to ensure it delivers a fit-for-purpose venue for both the community and the AFL.
Key Highlights of the Project
- Major Upgrades: The project will transform the Lyndoch Recreation Park to meet AFL standards, including the addition of a 300-seat event space, modern clubrooms with a commercial kitchen, upgraded change facilities, and a new gym.
- New Facilities: An Adelaide Oval replica bar and service area, new netball courts, a recreation green, a second oval, an athletics track, shelters, playgrounds, family gardens, and increased parking facilities will also be part of the upgrade.
- Community and Tourism Impact: The redevelopment is expected to boost local tourism, bringing more visitors and economic benefits to the Barossa Valley. Barossa Council Mayor Bim Lange highlighted the broader impact of the investment, noting its potential to unlock opportunities for arts, culture, and festivals on both local and national scales (InDaily) (Zero Hanger).
