Avalon International Air Show

The Avalon Australian International Air Show is 4 days of exhibition followed by 3 days of a public airshow.

The world’s aviation, aerospace and defence industries come together in Avalon for a trade event which includes international industry exhibition, static aircraft displays, conference programs, corporate hospitality, career days and airshow entertainment.

AMDA Foundation engage iEDM to act as the overlay designers, project managers and construction managers for this major international event and exhibition. The site is completely temporary, built around four central 4,200 square metre temporary exhibition buildings - totalling 16,800m2 of temporary structure to support roughly 240 internal exhibitors.

A temporary venue, consisting of over 40,000m2 of temporary structures, 4,800 grandstand seats, over 900 toilets, 7km of security fencing, 80 generators, 130 portable buildings to host a trade expo and a public event with over 200,000 patrons.

The AIAS is a unique project, built within the footprint of an operating airport. iEDM liaise with existing airport operations, CASA and Australian Defence Force, who is the major event stakeholder. The project involves setting up a temporary exhibition venue, bumping in and operating an international exhibition which is attended by close to 50,000 attendances.

Following the industry event, the site is opened up to the public for a major public event.
