iEDM was honoured to be selected by FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 as the Overlay Managing Contractor for the competition venues in Australia, including the impressive International Broadcast Centre.

In this pivotal role, iEDM seamlessly delivered a comprehensive suite of services, encompassing project management, programming, detailed design, and principal contractor services at multiple iconic venues, including Stadium Australia, Sydney Football Stadium, Suncorp Stadium, AAMI Park, Hindmarsh Stadium, and HBF Park.

Supported by a dedicated team of a little over 50 trusted local sub-contractors, iEDM offered a wide range of essential services, including but not limited to:

With over 40 dedicated staff concurrently working on delivering excellence across the country, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 fittingly represented one of the largest managing contractor roles in iEDM's history. Our on-site delivery teams collaborated seamlessly with a central design and commercial team, ensuring precision and efficiency throughout the project.

iEDM was chosen for this prestigious role due to our extensive experience as a principal contractor on major overlay projects in Australia and our deep-rooted relationships with the overlay supply chain in the country.

The project presented a unique blend of standard event overlay equipment and bespoke design solutions crafted to meet FIFA's stringent international standards. As part of our commitment to sustainability, iEDM minimised the transport of overlay equipment by sourcing locally while prioritising equipment that required minimal fabrication. When fabrication was necessary, we diligently sought legacy solutions for the products, minimising waste and environmental impact.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 project stands as a resounding success for both the sport and the nation as a whole. For iEDM, it represents a significant milestone, marking one of our most substantial contributions to a major games product in our 40+ year history.
