The City of Gold Coast (CoGC) host a variety of events for which they are the Authorising Agency.

As part of the authorisation there are Work Health & Safety obligations held by the Event Host as well as CoGC. CoGC directly engaged iEDM to conduct a desktop and in-field review of Workplace Health and Safety and Risk Management Event Planning and Delivery Documentation for the Quiksilver Pro and SWELL events in 2019. This was a high level review of the approval process and included the following: 

• Desktop reviews of multiple planning documents provided by Event Organisers to CoGC; 
• Attendance at CoGC stakeholder meetings; 
• Attendance at the event site. 

iEDM provided CoGC with detailed recommendations to limit the organisations exposure to risk, as well as mechanisms for event promoters to mature in the WHS & Risk disciplines.

With the CoGC, iEDM are fortunate to contribute to the sustaining the future of event on the Gold Coast.
