OVERVIEW

The FORMULA 1 Australian Grand Prix is Australia's largest annual temporary overlay project.

iEDM deliver approximately $40M of overlay infrastructure for this major project on behalf of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation.

The Event consists of 40,000 temporary seats, 5.2km of temporary circuit infrastructure, various entertainment precincts, temporary broadcast facilities and various international standard corporate entertainment facilities.

As the Engineering Project Managers for the Event, we integrate the following servives

  • Overlay and Engineering Design;
  • Procurement, Financial and Project Management of all overlay infrastructure;
  • Technical Services, Civil and Structural Engineering;
  • Site and Construction Management;
  • Principal Contractor Services;
  • Stakeholder Management; and,
  • Capex infrastructure project development.

Each year, the Albert Park Lake precinct undergoes an extraordinary transformation as it prepares to host one of the most exhilarating motorsport races in the world. In 2023, the event surpassed all expectations, boasting the largest attendance in history and surpassing the record-breaking numbers of 2022, with an incredible 444,631 fans across the four days!

AFL Gather Round 2023

The AFL Gather Round event aimed to celebrate football while actively engaging the local community. iEDM played a crucial role in planning, procuring, managing, ensuring safety, and delivering all temporary infrastructure across the Adelaide Hills and Norwood venues.

2023 Thrifty Newcastle 500

The Newcastle 500 project went beyond a street circuit, encompassing major infrastructure upgrades and urban revitalisation. It involved new water mains, smart city infrastructure, telecommunications networks, stormwater networks, and the creation of additional parking spaces.
