Perth Supercars Feasibility

The West Australian Government & Supercars Australia desired a major city focused Event.

iEDM was engaged by the WA Department of Premier and Cabinet to investigate multiple inner-city opportunities to establish whether a showcase Supercars Event could be hosted in Perth.

iEDM conducted site investigations, concept event and overlay design and key stakeholder negotiations to review 3 potential sites and produce a feasibility study for the WA Government’s consideration. The feasibility study identified legacy and broader benefits of the project which were far greater than the original scope intended.

The outputs of the feasibility study identified:

• A preferred site, between Crown Casino and Optus Stadium in Burswood,
  adjacent to the CBD.
• Concept overlay and circuit design.
• Low, medium and high capital works budget options.
• Detailed recurrent event overlay budgets and infrastructure identification.
• Legacy opportunities.
• Civil engineering constraints and design considerations.

Through the investigations, iEDM was able to identify additional opportunities for legacy options which created broader Government and Community benefits.
